I originally planned to begin this blog talking about the state of the church and how it has spent
way too long sitting idly by and ignoring some very important issues in our community. However, since I began this site the country has experienced some tough economic times and whenever the economy is bad it is the low-income that bears the brunt of it. The Neighborhood Christian Centers, Inc. has found it harder to fulfill our mission because many of our donors are unable to give as they have in the past. Our food pantry and our clothes closet are an important part of what we do and we cannot give what we do not have.
I have decided to dedicate my first blog to how we can show compassion during the recession. Please take the time to read it and share your comments. Feel free to share with us how you and/or your organization has been weathering the storm.
Service is the rent we pay to be living. It is the very purpose of life and not something you do in your spare time.
