A First Lady of the Church is the wife of a Bishop, pastor, or an Evangelist.
A Letter From the Editor
Then there was my pastor’s wife in Institute, West Va., and she was a gracious Christian woman. She played the piano, directed the choir, and she was a praying woman. When she prayed, things happened. I remember the day I kneeled at the altar to receive Christ, it was Sarah Cunningham right there praying for me. Sarah said, “I knew you had it in you.” She would also say that when someone had a success in something, she was the ultimate encourager and friend.
A few years ago, we got a new pastor and wife at our church, but before they came, a great young woman became a part of our church who knew the pastor and his wife. She would call his wife, “first lady,” and for a long time I thought it was her nickname. I did not know that the new name for a pastor’s wife was first lady. When I discovered this, I said, “How cool.”
First ladies are hard working women that have many tasks in the church, they deserve honor. If you have a hardworking first lady or Co-Pastor, highlight her on this page. Pictures and information about your first lady or Co-Pastor are welcome on this site. For your first lady to become eligible for the “First Church Lady of the Month” honor, you would need to submit a bio of your first lady. If she wins this honor, her bio is then posted on the front of the web magazine and she will then be eligible for the “First Church Lady of the Year” honor.
